1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using The Carbon Workbench ("the Service") at thecarbonworkbench.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. The Service is operated from Bristol, United Kingdom.

2. Description of Service

The Carbon Workbench provides carbon calculation tools and optional professional project reports for project developers, consultants and sustainability teams:

• Free calculator access: Use the available project calculators and view on-screen estimates at no charge. An account may be required to save or return to work.
• Project report credits: One Project Report and Three Project Reports are one-off purchases. Each credit permanently unlocks report export for the project identifier to which it is applied.
• Unlimited Project Reports: Provides report unlock access for 12 months from purchase. It is separate from legacy workspace, embed or implementation arrangements.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to save work, purchase report access or use account-specific features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service to transmit harmful, offensive or misleading content
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission

5. Calculations and Accuracy

The calculators and tools provided are for informational and estimation purposes only. Results are based on published emission factors and methodologies (including Gold Standard, Verra VCS, IPCC guidelines and BSI PAS 2060) but should not be relied upon as the sole basis for carbon credit verification, regulatory submissions or financial decisions. We strongly recommend independent verification for any compliance or certification purposes.

We make reasonable efforts to keep emission factors and methodologies current but do not warrant that all figures are up to date at any given time.

6. Payments and Annual Access

One Project Report and Three Project Reports are one-off purchases. Unlimited Project Reports provides report-unlock access for the annual period shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Any renewal terms are displayed at checkout and, where applicable, annual access can be managed through the billing portal.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, methodology documents and branding, is owned by The Carbon Workbench and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.

Data you enter into the Service (project details, calculations, notes) remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your data.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Carbon Workbench shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@thecarbonworkbench.com.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
