1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using The Carbon Workbench ("the Service") at thecarbonworkbench.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. The Service is operated from Bristol, United Kingdom.

2. Description of Service

The Carbon Workbench provides professional carbon calculation tools for project developers, consultants and sustainability teams. The Service is offered on a freemium basis:

• Free plan: Access to the biochar calculator, carbon footprint analyser, CO₂e converter and water project calculator at no charge.
• Pro plan (£49/month): Access to additional tools including the feasibility modeller, cookstove estimator, net zero planner, credit pricing tracker and PDF report export.
• Enterprise plan (£299/month): All Pro features plus the portfolio dashboard, enterprise portal, branded materials and dedicated support.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to access features beyond the free tools. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service to transmit harmful, offensive or misleading content
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission

5. Calculations and Accuracy

The calculators and tools provided are for informational and estimation purposes only. Results are based on published emission factors and methodologies (including Gold Standard, Verra VCS, IPCC guidelines and BSI PAS 2060) but should not be relied upon as the sole basis for carbon credit verification, regulatory submissions or financial decisions. We strongly recommend independent verification for any compliance or certification purposes.

We make reasonable efforts to keep emission factors and methodologies current but do not warrant that all figures are up to date at any given time.

6. Payment and Subscriptions

Pro and Enterprise subscriptions are billed monthly. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, methodology documents and branding, is owned by The Carbon Workbench and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.

Data you enter into the Service (project details, calculations, notes) remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your data.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Carbon Workbench shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@thecarbonworkbench.com.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
