ISO 14068-1:2023 is the international standard for carbon neutrality claims. It replaced BSI PAS 2060, which BSI withdrew in 2025. A claim under ISO 14068-1 starts with a quantified footprint covering all material Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, followed by a reduction plan, offsetting of residual emissions with qualifying credits, and independent verification of the claim.
The Carbon Workbench Footprint Analyser covers the first of those steps as a screening estimate. It uses activity-based accounting (rather than spend-based) and applies UK DESNZ conversion factors.
